Options Program

Below is a screen shot of the Picture Tools Options program.  This program allows you to customize how Picture Tools works.  Each option is explained in detail below.

Internet Explorer Addons

• Filter Links
  This hooks Picture Tools into Internet Explorer.  It is required to be on for Picture Tools to work properly.

• Cancel Popups
  This is an addon that prevents popup windows from opening immediately after you browse to a site or browse from a site.  It also monitors if a site resized your window after loading a page.  Popup windows may still appear but this should prevent you from getting stuck in a popup loop.  You may turn this option off if you wish.

• Show "View All Pics" in Internet Explorer's right-click menu
  This enables the View All Pics entry in Internet Explorer's right click menu.

Download Pics Options

• Add group and image number to downloaded file names
  This option will add a group and image number prefix to file names when they are downloaded.  This helps group files in the order they were downloaded.  All files from a gallery will gave the same group number.

• Next Group Number
  This is the next group number that will be pre-pended to file names.  It is in the format (letter, number, number, number).  The group number is decreased by one when a gallery is downloaded.

• Default Pictures Download Folder
  This is the folder where picture galleries will be saved to by default.

• Default Movies Download Folder
  This is the folder where movie galleries will be saved by default.

• Save erroneous downloads
  When this option is enabled, files that had a problem downloading will not be automatically deleted.  A common error is a file is not found and the program saves the file not found page.

General Options

• Maximize window on View All Pics
  This option will maximize the Internet Explorer window whenever the View All Pics feature is used.

• Use Internet Explorer's proxy server settings
  When enabled Internet Explorer's proxy settings will be used when downloading a file.  Note: the proxy settings exceptions list is not used.  All request will go through the proxy server.

• Obey robot exclusion rules
  Some galleries may choose to exclude programs like Picture Tools from working on their page by adding a meta tag.  You may choose to ignore generic robot excision rules with this option.

• Use Internet Explorer to request pages
  When enabled, Internet Explorer is used to request pages.  By default Internet Explorer is not used since it runs javascript and ActiveX controls when a page is requested.

View All Pics from Right-Click

• When no pictures found...
  These option allow you to set how Picture Tools behaves when use a feature but no pictures or movies were found to view.  You can receive a prompt asking you what to do, you can automatically browse to the page and you can disable the no pictures found message.

View All Pics from Explorer Bar

• Do not show "No pictures found" message
  When enabled a message will not be displayed when pictures or movies are not found after using the View All Pics feature from Internet Explorer.
